Voice & phone numbers
Give your agent a phone number and it can place and answer calls — using your own telephony and your own voice keys, so there's no per-minute platform markup.
Connect a number
Under Phone Numbers, connect a number from Plivo, Exotel, Twilio, or your own SIP trunk. Bring your own provider account (BYOK) and paste the keys once.
Assign an agent & go live
- Create a voice agent (or install a voice template) and set its voice, language and persona.
- Assign the agent to your number and choose inbound, outbound, or both.
- For outbound, launch a campaign to call a contact list.
Voices & voice cloning
Pick India-native voices from Sarvam or Smallest.ai, or use OpenAI / ElevenLabs. Manage and clone voices in the Voice Library. The agent can auto-detect the caller's language and switch to it mid-call, and hand off to a human number when asked.
How the agent behaves on a call
- Greeting. The agent opens with its First message, on calls it makes and on calls it receives, spoken the moment the call connects, word for word. If the first message is written for calling out (“I am calling about…”), incoming callers get a plain welcome with your business name.
- Interruptions. The caller can speak at any moment and the agent stops and answers the new point. A short “हाँ”, “जी”, “hmm” or “okay” while the agent is talking is taken as the caller following along: the agent carries on rather than stopping. Turn interruptions off under Call behaviour only for very noisy lines.
- Order status. With Shopify connected, the agent can look up the caller's order during the call: status, items and tracking number, from the orders placed with the number they are calling from, or from an order number together with the phone or email used at checkout.
- Pauses. The agent waits about half a second of silence before replying, so it does not answer a half-finished sentence.
- Short answers. Replies are kept to one or two short sentences, with only the final amount for a price.
- Speaking to a person. Add a Transfer to human number and the agent hands the call over when asked. Without one, it offers a callback and takes the caller's number; it never claims to have transferred a call.
- Silence. If nobody, caller or agent, has spoken for 40 seconds, the call is ended.
Call behaviour — noise, interruptions & acknowledgement
Each agent has a Call behaviour section so it stays natural on real-world lines:
- Background noise handling — Quiet, Normal or Noisy. Pick Noisy for a shop counter, street or factory floor so background sound doesn't make the agent stop or talk over the caller.
- Let the caller interrupt — on by default; turn it off on very noisy lines so noise can't cut the agent off mid-sentence.
- Acknowledgement style — how the agent reacts before answering: a natural short word (“sure”, “haan”), a full phrase, none, or your own custom line.
- Advanced — fine-tune raw mic sensitivity and the silence-before-reply timing, or reset to the preset.
Check an agent before it takes calls
On the Agents page, press Check on a calling agent. In about half a minute it has seven short test conversations with your agent, exactly as it is set up (its instructions, knowledge base, flow and tools), and shows what it found:
- Opening the call: does it use your own opening line, briefly.
- "What do you do?": does it say what your business does, in a sentence or two.
- Something you do not do: does it say so, instead of bending the question into one of your products.
- A fact it may not have: does it avoid inventing timings, prices or addresses.
- Asked for a person: does it transfer, or offer a call back, and never promise a transfer it cannot make.
- A one-word answer: does it carry on, in the same language, without ending the call.
- Goodbye: does it say a short goodbye and hang up.
Each item is marked good, to look at, or to fix, with the conversation it is based on and what to change. It also reads the settings (no knowledge base, no transfer number, instructions long enough to slow every answer) and reports how quickly the agent starts to answer.
It also runs by itself. Every night, each calling agent that took a call in the last week, or was changed since its last check, is checked automatically at no cost to you. The latest result shows under the agent's name on the Agents page ("Check on 13 Oct: ready for calls"); click it to see the details.
